Eglwyswrw village is strategically sited on the turnpike road from Cardigan to Newport and Haverfordwest.
It was formerly noted for its ancient coaching inn, the Sergeants Arms, where the petty sessions was held. The community includes a large area of the northern slopes of the Preseli Hills.
(SN 079321) This was the site of a searchlight battery, high on the moorland slopes, of which little or no trace now remains.
(SN 114349) The moorland here formed part of the wartime tank range which extended across much of the Preselis. Tank tracks have been noted on the slopes of Waun Brwynant as far south as Hafod-Tydfil.
(SN 104350) Located here was a small complex of workshops and garages built in connection with the above tank range.
